The Czech Republic is one of Europe’s freest places to live and breathe. Just a week ago it was rated as a place with the second least ‘Parental Government’ or ‘Nanny’ laws, according to NannyIndex. Beyond that, the country is trying to improve the health and well being of the nation, outlawing plastics at music festivals as well. As the country grows and its capital continues raging in popularity, so does the availabilities of new experiences. This week or instance, the Poo at the Prague Zoo will help people learn about animals in an interesting way.
History of the Zoo
If not familiar, Prague has one of the older zoos in the world. It first opened in 1931, a time period well after World War 1 and just 8 years before WWII. It has over 120 acres of exhibits with an additional 20 acres for related uses. According to Wikipedia it has over five thousand animals, which includes 132 species that are endangered worldwide.
Common sites rank the Prague Zoo within the Top 5 of worldly rankings most of the time. It has held a top position for over 5 decades on various polls, including the infamous TripAdvisor list (see here). This was made for consumers by consumers, which means the honesty and votes came from people genuinely pleased by their visit to ‘Zoologická zahrada.’
Poopity Poop
The latest experience at the Prague City Zoo is one that may befuddle some in reading it’s title. However, it is something quite unique and informative. Animal lovers who aim to experience wildlife in its natural habitat, will definitely want to check this out. The “Koprolity A Exkrementy” or “Coprolites and excrements” exhibit has just opened and let’s just say, ‘It’s a load of crap.” However, it’s not crap in bad way. The display will literally show visitors ‘poop’ of various animals.
The two titles in the exhibit represent two different types of Poop on display. “Coprolites” is a unique type of poo from ancient animals. This particular type of ‘dung’ has been fossilized and likely from animal that roamed the earth over one hundred years before today.
The ‘excrements’ are totally different from the ‘Coprolites.’ These animal bowels are from more recent times. Some of these pieces of ‘poopity poop’ (as Kanye West might say) may even make it fairly easy to see some of the highlighted animal’s diet. It may be affected by season or region.

Various marine animal excrements are also in the display.
