After waiting three years, fans were finally treated to Season 3 of The Deadly Sins. Written by author Nakaba Suzuki, the series revolves around the people in the kingdom of Liones are under the protection of the Holy Knights. The Holy Knights have some of the strongest and most epic heroes in the land. Unfortunately, a segment of the Holy Nights are set up and framed for preparing to take down the crown.
The kingdom needs to get back under control and the land needs to be restored. This attempt at restoration comes from Princess Elizabeth. She seeks out the Seven Deadly Sins, who have been running for the past 10 years. Elizabeth believes they are the only hope to bring peace and prosperity back to the kingdom of Liones.
A Season 4 Return of The Deadly Sins?
Since the story has not yet been concluded, it is known that Season 4 of The Deadly Sins will return. People who are familiar with the show know how impactful the ending was in leaving their minds blown with the Manga.
What is unclear is if season four will be the last of the popular series. Based on the book, over 110 chapters still remain. But, many are confident that all the fighting and story remaining in those 110 chapters can be stretched out into two more seasons. Fans of the show, obviously, never want to see it end.
The fourth season is expected to be named: The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods and will air on Netflix. Assuming the next season has 24 episodes, fans should not expect to see the series released until the fall of 2020.
What to Expect in Season 4
Fans are aware that King Arthur has been missing hinting at the potential end of Camelot, which has fallen to Zeldris and the other commandments. There are many amazing secrets and shocking revelations that are expected to be revealed as the relationship between Meliodas and Elizabeth take a stunning turn.
It is apparent that Meliodas continues to do everything in his power to protect his beloved Elizabeth, which begs people to question if he will finally succumb to his demon form? The Seven Deadly Sins are scattered all across the kingdom and they must be united in order to take down the threat of the demon clan. The question is, will they be able to unite together and restore order in the kingdom?
Why is the release date different between Japan and the United States?
There have been some questions over why the Seven Deadly Sins will be airing weekly in Japan and not in the United States. Their series was set to begin on September 22nd and expected to end around the 15th of March in 2020.
This information really makes people question why the series isn’t being simulcast? The common reason is that there would be no English dub available if the series were to be simulcast. Many subscribers, naturally, prefer “Sub over Dub” but, as expected, most people would rather the English dub.
It is also unclear the license that Netflix actually has for The Seven Deadly Sins permits them to include simulcasting the series. Netflix does have the ability to release weekly episodes because of the growing number of foreign originals.
Since it has been so hugely popular, Netflix is not expected to hold back the fourth season until November. It is believed that fans can expect to see the show starting in the United States around July or August of 2020. Unfortunately, that is still a long time to wait!
Returning Staff
With this being an anime series, it is imperative that the fluidity of the series continues with many of the same key components. There is a switch happening in terms of the studio as the series will now be in DEEN studio. What does this mean for the series?
Susumu Nishizawa, who is the director of the series, is returning after developing the storyboards on the Revival of the Commandments. Music composers, Hiroyuki Sawano, Kohta Yamamoto, and Takafumi Wada are also making their way back for Season 4.
Casting for season 4 of The Seven Deadly Sins includes many of the same characters from previous seasons. Fans can expect to see Meliodas, Elizabeth, Hawk, Diane, Ben, and many more prominent characters return.
The fourth season is expected to lead to the climax of the whole series hinting that Season 5 will be the final season. Rumors have it that Season 4 could contain more than 24 episodes, but there has been no confirmation of that yet.
