After being blown away by Snowbombing festival in previous years and being lucky enough to talk with DJs like Eats Everything, Artwork, Patrick Topping and others,
TA-DAH.TV are extremely excited for Snowbombing 2020! It is one of our personal favorite festivals in the entire world – and that honestly takes some doing! Let’s take a look into what makes this festival so special to so many party-goers!
Held every year in Mayrhofen, (a ski resort in Austria), Snowbombing has been entertaining people by the thousands since the year 2000. Now acting as Europe’s largest snow and music festival, the line-up originally consisted of DJs and electronic dance music.
As the years progressed and with a resurgence of indie and rock music, countless amazing live acts have been added to the bill! With more than fifty pools and saunas around the festival, accompanied by jaw-dropping alpine scenery, Snowbombing is a festival that offers luxury, comfort and most importantly the best music!
Snowbombing offers a wide range of immensely talented artists every year – but this year’s line-up has reached an all-time high! Ranging from Rock ‘n’ Roll to spoken word, every genre under the sun is on offer across this amazing mini-week! As the world’s selection of creative artists betters itself, so does Snowbombing’s line-up. Let’s look at a selection of artists on show this year:
The ultimate Rock ‘n’ Roll legend is back for his second headline appearance! After earning the title of one of the biggest figures in rock, we’re sure the feistier of the two Gallagher brothers will no doubt blow us all away again – queue the tambourine!
For two decades, Mike Skinner’s urban collective have shaped the way many perceive hip-hop and garage music. By blurring the lines between genres, a generation of youth have become inspired to not let the word ‘genre’ define them. We can’t way to see this breath-taking act in the flesh!
Having risen to the top due to his languid delivery of refreshingly honest lyrics, this self-reflective modern hip-hop artist breathes life into a somewhat aggressive industry. Such is the rarity in which we are blessed with introspective artists; Carner’s set poses time for reflection.
Snowbombing has some of the most amazing venues and stages we have ever laid our eyes upon! Some of the world’s most fascinating sets take place here and the music, accompanied with the lights and atmosphere, really makes for a weekend to remember! Snowbombing’s venues are very unique and incomparable to stages at any festival you may have been to before!
Ranging from mountain high igloos (we’re talking 2000m above sea level here), to enchanted forests, street parties and secret gig venues, festival goers are spoilt for choice. The only issue is choosing which stage or venue to go to for letting your hair down! Let’s look at the spectacular stages that Snowbombing boasts:
Imagine a world-class sound system in the heart of the mesmerising alpine pines. This excellent, enchanted location is the home of the headliners – previously boasting the likes of Chase & Status, Liam Gallagher and Pendulum.
The Racket Club
This stage is all of the DJ’s favorite place to perform! An underground tennis club turned club, the racket club is well and truly a ravers’ paradise. Co2 cannons and mind-blowing visuals mean this stage defines optimum Snowbombing nightlife.
The Street Party
If you love fancy dress then this is the place to be! Set in the center of the ‘Hof, ravers flood to this stage for a crazy, fancy dress party. Leave your inhibitions back in the hotel and come dance to some amazing DJ’s alongside a telly tubby and cookie monster!
This location is insane: with access only by cable car, the igloo holds about 180 people, but what’s equally great is getting up there in good time and watch the sunset over the mountain by the log fires, meeting all the other ravers and have a chat before getting down to business. We interviewed DJ Yoday, who is playing this year again, on such an occasion, and we had such a laugh. Apart from the English crowd, you’ll hear Italian, German, Dutch and French spoken around the fire, which funnily enough, is never an issue to tune into, once you’ve had your 5th beer or so. An incredible treat this, so tickets sell like hotcakes…
