When going to the dentist, one has thoughts of getting their teeth cleaned and a brighter smile. Americans generally walk away with more confidence in their stride, knowing they have a mouth full of clean bright whites. For a Venezuelan family that just moved to the country however, things will not be seen this way. That part of the ‘American Dream’ will be slighted after there experience with a Manhattan, New York City dentist. The family took their 16-year-old daughter for a job and possible check up but found the Dentist was ‘checking out’ their daughter.
Details of Arrangement
Ninfa Calderon Pereira and her 16-year-old daughter had just fled from there home country of Venezuela weeks ago. The South American country is going through internal warring and severe starvation issues in certain parts. Their new home is of one of America’s most expensive cities to live, New York City. Once here, the Latina mom sought out work for herself and her teenage daughter. After questioning an associate, she was recommended to get a check up and job from Dr. Soleiman Rabanipour, DDS.
Quickly Mrs. Pereira contacted the Manhattan dentist, located at 527 Malcom X Boulevard. Judging by location and conversation, everything seemed professional enough to take things seriously. Therefore, the Pereira daughter was sent on her way to meet the NYC Dentist. Once at the office, however, the ‘doctor of teeth’ was everything but professional.
When a smile, turns into frown…
According to the NYPost, the job interview went almost as wrong as possible. Dr. Rabanipour was everything but professional once alone with the 16-year-old Venezuelan. In fact, the Dentist told the high school teen he could not hire her, almost immediately. She did not speak English. While this should have been a ‘red flag’ on a job opportunity in America to start with, just as many foreign Americans, the mother sent her daughter anyway.
After telling her she could not work at the office, he moved closer to the Venezuelan girl saying things, she did not understand. Assumably rather quick, the dentist positioned himself to get more physical with the teenager and than attempted to kiss. While it is unclear if they kissed or not, afterward Dr. Rabanipour offered her a different position then working with smiles. Instead, he offered the girl a job as a personal prostitute.
Prostitution Instead of Dental Assistant
It’s alleged the Manhattan Dentist offered the teenage Venezuelan girl $400-$1600 per week to be his personal ‘side chick.’ The girl would have to come to the office four days a week and have sex with Soleiman, who is believed by various sources online to have had a wife or girlfriend at the time of the incident.
To help fix her smile, Rabanipour threw in additional benefits allegedly saying, “Plus unlimited dental care.”
The young South American teen stood tall in the face of such a tempting cash payout. She told her mother about the situation and the two immediately filed a report with the NYPD. For unknown reasons, no violations were issued. The case is now being taken to the Manhattan Supreme Court in the form of a lawsuit.
As for finding new dental services, legitimate and high standards companies like Smileworks have their doors open to service the Venezuelan teen and their family.
