Can That CBD Oil Make You Fail Your Drug Test?

Can That CBD Oil Make You Fail Your Drug Test? Pin It

CBD products have seen a rise in the US as well as on a global level. The legalization of marijuana in many US states has made CBD oil products easier to obtain, and the quality of oil has also improved. Cannabis contains two cannabinoids called THC and CBD. CBD does not contain abusive tendencies, addictive properties or compounds that are harmful to the human body.

There are a lot of people who depend on CBD products and CBD oil for medicinal reasons, and some of them wonder if CBD will cause them to fail a drug test? When it comes to job security and a steady income to support their families, this is certainly a valid question. If you’re wondering what the answer is? It’s no, so you can relax. A drug test is looking for THC and not CBD.

Improper Purification of CBD Oil

One of the biggest problems for false positives for consumers of CBD oil is the source from where they’re getting it. Some manufacturers of CBD oils don’t purify the oil to the legal limits, and this can be the source of a false positive, which is due to the higher levels of THC in the product. It’s always a good idea to know what’s in the oil, and CBD oil products that have undergone lab testing with verification labels are the safest ones to buy and avoid a false positive drug test that could be true.

CBD Oil & False Positives

According to scientific data provided by Blaze4days and recent consumer CBD reviews, CBD oil that isn’t purified can cause a false positive on a drug test because it contains higher levels of THC than it should. In order for THC to be considered legal, it must contain more than 0.3 percent in any product; therefore, CBD oil that contains less than 0.3 percent THC is perfectly legal. Companies can not discriminate or test for CBD, but they can test for THC.

CBD Oil Medicinal Uses

According to medical publications and scientific data, researchers are currently working on the effects of CBD oil for those who suffer from epilepsy. Although, there’s still a lot of testing and data to gather, CBD oil is gaining ground and helping epilepsy patients. CBD oil has a wide range of medicinal uses that include:

  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Inflammation in bones/muscles/joints
  • Pain
  • Nausea
  • Insomnia

The antioxidants properties of the tinctures used in CBD oil is what makes them work so well. Using CBD oil to treat a number of health-related problems has extended health benefits, whereas using THC to get high can come with learning problems and coordination issues as well as a number of short and long-term health risks.

The Safest Way to That Know Your CBD Oil is THC Free

Since cannabis is legal on almost every level in the US with more states joining the recreational-use bandwagon it is creating a vast market, and CBD oil products can be found just about anywhere you look. Despite its popularity, it still leaves doubts in the minds of those who want to try this alternative product by leaving insecurities about failing a drug test.

It’s important to understand that not all CBD oil products are manufactured in the same manner. There are certain states where higher concentration amounts of CBD are legal, and they also include high levels of THC. If you use one of these products, you will fail a drug test.

The safest way to know for sure there’s no THC in your CBD oil is to use hemp-based products. Most CBD oils that are hemp-based only have a small percentage of CBD with just trace amounts of THC. In order to fail a drug test for using CBD oil, you would have to take an excessive amount on a daily basis, which is about 1,000 milligrams or more. Most people who use CBD oil to treat medical conditions only take about 130-160mg daily, so if you’re worried about failing a drug test for taking that CBD oil, don’t be.
