WEBSTER COUNTY, KY—Over the last few weeks, construction on the new Oasis Southwest Bar & Grill restaurant has been highly noticeable to locals driving on Island Ford Rd. in Madisonville.

However, as of this posting, construction of the site, which is actually located on Powell Dr. in front of Holiday Inn Express, has been completed and the restaurant is open from 4pm until closing time today and tomorrow, July 30th.

Additionally, the official Grand Opening Ceremony of the new eatery and bar, as well as the inclusion of longer hours of operation, will be taking place this Saturday, July 31st, at 11am.

iSurf News spoke with the new restaurant’s General Manager, Terry Green, and found out what the new restaurant will offer to our community as well as how they feel about the new location.  

“We’re definitely excited. It’s an honor to be in your community,” said Green. “I think it’s a good match for both of us. I think you all need us and we need you, so it’s a good thing. We just want everyone to come out Saturday and see what hospitality is all about. You know, a lot of places like Applebee’s and Friday’s have gotten rid of their patios and went to a smaller building size. They forgot what hospitality was all about and we’re going to bring it back to Madisonville.”

Green also mentioned that Oasis has already brought in about 130 jobs for local citizens. Following the first week, Green said that they would be accepting more applications for employment as well.

“I’m proud of being part of Oasis,” said Green. “I’ve worked for a corporation that forgot who they were, and it’s an honor to be with someone who’s going to be bringing hospitality back. Plus, we’ve got a great patio, a great bar, and our building is probably 4 times the size of Applebee’s in square footage. I mean, it’s just awesome. It’s an awesome place to be and an awesome place to visit.”

Again, the Grand Opening of Oasis Southwest Bar & Grill will be taking place this Saturday, July 31st, at 11am. Oasis is located at 540 Powell Dr. in Madisonville (across the street from Kroger’s and Lowes on Madisonville’s north side).
